Running Windows 98SE right now..

I am running Windows 98SE right now, but I just got an IPOD and my computer has been crashing a lot, becaise the Ipod software really wants Windows ME, Windows XP or Windows 2000.

How much is XP and is XP the best to go with? I really don't want Windows 2000. I have heard a lot of good things about XP. Is XP cheap to get it over the NET? Do any of you have problems with your computer crashing?

You can get a copy of XP Home OEM (which is the full edition with OEM EULA) for $93 at www.newegg.com It has to be purchased with hardware. But there is no charge for the hardware the complies with the terms of OEM!
