Interested in using XP as a local web server on a network for serving some pages inside a company network.

Anyone done this/know how to go about it?

    PRO

No way I'd use home. :D

I can install iis ok but thats about as far as my current knowlege takes me. Basically I cant verify its done right and dont know how to access it internally.

I'm basically hoping to simulate a low power web server, hopefully with cgi scripting support and mabye even javascript.

I see, you can start the management tool:
    C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\iis.msc
and the pages are under C:\Inetpub\wwwroot

you can also uninstall IIS and download and Install Apache

    Apache Website

    it is for free
