I couldn't find a command line reference for media player.

    C:\> "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe" C:\WINDOWS\Media\chord.wav

So doing that will launch the big player, which is not what you want, right, you want the sound to play without hiding your program.

You know about the Sound Player Foundation Class right?

Heres a way to do it with a win32 API: http://www.news2news.com/vfp/?group=-1&function=398
