Run MsConfig and look in the Startups Tab for an update HP item and uncheck it. If that cures the error problem at boot, then check the location given by MsConfig for that command and go there and delete it. The command is obviously corrupted and you can do without it and run your own update checks manually.

If you have trouble finding the command causing the problem, click DoRunList.bat, then click Run (not necessary to download it unless you prefer) and it will cause a text file named startups.txt to appear on your desktop that will have the contents of the following Registry Keys in it:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]

Copy/paste the contents of that file here for review.
