Hello: has anyone used the free version of GetDataBack, which I am using from my BartPE CD, to get a working XP (bootable, runs XPhome) from a restored .img that GetDataBack made? I prematurely formatted a drive, now want that same drive working as it was before I formatted it.

The whole point is that thunderbird email app has an inbox which will not open in its new home, and so if I restore the drive and the thunderbird as it was, the hope is that the emails will open & I can save them in textedit or export them.
    -Thank you.

I'm not familiar with GetDataBack / BartPE combination.
Some of the popular image programs allow the user to "mount an image file" (will be assigned a drive letter on system). This allows the user to view your created image backup files. If this is possible, locate / copy over your profile folder for Thunderbird from image backup to your HDD. If this can be done, I would then suggest starting a new thread (after you copy TB profile over) on Netscape / Mozilla (Firefox, Thunderbird & SeaMonkey) forum for suggestions / advice in moving email info over to TB's new home / drive.
