Is it possible to have two versions of Mozilla installed? I read
in Getting Started with Mozilla that it is possible to run multiple versions of Mozilla.
Earlier on, on the same page, I read
To me, the two passages seemed to be mutually exclusive. If I should uninstall the older version of Mozilla before installing the newer one how can I have multiple versions of Mozilla running? What do you think?

    Lee,

I believe that the point to this statement:
is that the user shouldn't install the updated version over the existing version of Mozilla.

You can run beaucoup copies of Mozilla simultaneously, as long as the versions are in separate directories, and have separate Profiles. I take it that the term "run" is used to mean "install ", as least in this particular instance.

    Lee,

As Ramona said - (separate directories & profiles)- you can have multiple versions of Mozilla installed but you can not have more that one version running at the same time...

    Thanks Ramona and captjlddavis.

That's what I gathered too. And I suppose the quick launch when created during installation would launch the last version of Mozilla installed?

    lee,
Good question ? I do not use QL and would be very reluctant to have it enabled in TWO Moz versions..... I am sure that it sets something in Windows startup group - I do not know where it is set in the Windows registry structure and have no idea what would be the results of two entires -

In short DO NOT ENABLE QL IN MORE THAN ONE MOZILLA

But that is just my opinion...

QL saves you a few seconds at the onset, but is a pain. I also disable it. My past experience shows that all Mozillas will quick launch. I am not sure about Netscape, but it may be quick launched as well. So, I am with the "captain ".
As for the profiles, I have been using a single profile for as many as four Mozilla builds, with no problem. But, I would not do it, in retrospect. The pref.js file can get dizzy, and go belly up.
