I reimaged my computer using the Toshiba factory restore disk, because of a problem with Add/Remove Programs crashing, with the error message run dll as app has encountered a problem....

I still have the problem! On a NEW INSTALL!!!

    Any Ideas?

yanqui - Welcome to the Board :)

Look in Event Viewer, both Application and System - are there any error events there flagged with a white cross on a red ground that coincide with the error message and crash?

Double click on an event to open and on the icon below the up/down arrows to copy and paste in a post here.

Actually, I finally identified it as a RAM issue. Before running memtest86, I decided to take out the stick of RAM I added a few months ago, and have not had any issues since then. Crucial is going to send me a replacement. The thing is, with a brand new install, you should not have OS errors; blue screens, program crashes, etc. So I finally got it narrowed down to hardware, and the easiest diagnosis was ram, tested, voila!

Glad to hear you found the culprit - thanks for the update.
