    Hello,
    I have just installed Windows Vista SP1 and noticed that the feeds in my Internet Explorer 7 are not updating any more even clicking the feeds link will not upload the page. I also noticed that if I switch off the protected mode everything works fine.
    Is there maybe some registry tweak which will make it possible for the RSS Feeds work while I keep the protected mode on.
    Thank you,

    mario

    Some suggestions when RSS feeds are not updating:

    1. Check if Task Scheduler is running
      • At a command prompt type sc queryex schedule
      • Look at the STATE: line, it should read 4 RUNNING if it's not, start it with the following command: sc start schedule
    2. Check if RSS Download Engine is running
      • At a command prompt type reg query HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Feeds /v SyncStatus
      • Look at the Status line, it should read 0x01 or 0x1. If it isn't running, enable it with this command: msfeedssync enable
    3. Check if task is corrupted
      • At a command prompt type : schtasks /query | findstr /i "user_feed "
      • Look for
        ERROR: The task image is corrupt or has been tampered with.
        ERROR: Task cannot be loaded: User_Feed_Synchronization-{..
      • If corrupted, then delete and re-create the task with the following commands:
        msfeedssync disable
        msfeedssync enable

    State = 4 running
    status = 0X1
    sync status = ready

    everything seems to be "ok "

    as I said before everything works perfectly if Internet protected mode is "off" but not if protection is "On "

    Sorry, I have no clue. The only RSS experience I've had is with the RSS feed in the sidebar.

    That aside, my next guess would be to add the domain from which I want to get the feed to the 'Trusted sites' zone in IE.
