    Hi,
    hope someone can help
I am trying to reply, reply all or forward using Windows SBS 2003 and running Vista Home via Windows mail on my home desktop PC. I can see my Company email and open and read it, but when I open the mail and click reply, reply all or forward then I get a red 'x' in a white square in the top left of the reply pane against a blue background. The certificate does not have a red background (which I think is OK) and I cannot get this to work...any ideas

I take that RPC = Remote Procedure Call.

Red X's...try updating programs that run "script ", like Java, Flashplayer, etc.

It may need an update of an ActiveX.

"Company email ", you may need to get the company's Helpdesk to work on it. It may be controlled by Group Policy.

    no its still there
I think Windows Mail and Vista Home Premium could be the problem, either that or the fact that I do not have outlook on my PC. I installed MS Office home and student 2007 and this does not have a version of outlook on it.
So I still cannot reply, or forward any emails I have enabled all the Active X controls that I think are applicable

It may be a matter of making up an account. In Help and Support, look up Add or remove a Windows Mail account and Windows Mail: Setting up an account from start to finish.

If you have an old computer that you used previously (you mention Outlook), you could use Easy Transfer to transfer the settings. Look up Easy Transfer in Help and Support.

    No Mattman,
Thanks for your help but I still cannot reply or forward from Windows mail using the instructions for RCP over HTTP that I was given

Just found this in the help dialog box POP3, SMTP, and other e‑mail server types - notes section

Windows Mail does not support the HTTP:// protocol, which was used by Outlook Express to access Hotmail and other web-based e-mail services. For more information about accessing web-based e-mail, visit the Microsoft website

I think this will only work is if I get a copy of MS Outlook and intsall it on my dektop. Unfortunately my edition of MS Office Home and Student edition does not include Outlook
