Router and internet speed..

    Ok I just bought a new netgear n300 router to replace a older modal router. I have 2 laptops running at 31megs and a tablet running about 28megs and I have a 30 meg connection. My problem is on my desk top I am only getting 5megs and with the old router I was getting between 28 to 31 megs.. any ideas what could be going on ?
