I don't mind using IE rich-text but I don't like the way it lumps an entire quoted message into one section and DOESN'T allow splitting the quoted section so that I can add my reply text in between relevant text. Is there a way to split the quoted-section and add my "non-indented" text where I want? I am also using OE-Fix and FidoLook, but their features don't support replies in rich-text mode.

What do you mean by: "entire quoted message? "

Maybe the best way to explain it is via an actual email reply <g>. But I'll try to describe the problem again here.

OE's rich-text mode quote puts a solid line to the left of the entire original message that is quoted. Then some space opens up at the top for writing an actual reply. However, I would like to be able to write my reply WITHIN different sections of the original message. But OE's solid-line quote bar is not splittable. Looking at html the code, it looks like OE uses a {blockquote} {/blockquote} to mark the quoted text into one solid junk.

I was hoping that maybe there was a clever 3rd-party util that can help "split" the section with the blockquote and allow adding my reply text where I need it.

I just place my cursor at a spot and hit the enter key.

But if I do that, the "bar" that OE uses doesn't break up like I expect it to. Instead, it just stays there and grows even longer.

And why would that be a problem? You can always change the color of "your" replies to make them stand out.

To get rid of the bar in replies, in OE go to Tools>Options>Send tab and click on the Plain Text Settings button.

At the bottom of that window is "Indent the original text with..." and a drop-down list of options to the right. One of those options is the line. Uncheck the box to use nothing or select the > or : which will replace the line.
