rich edit error

I´ve got the following error: cannot initialize the rich text support whe I execute the palm desktop program.
Whit others programs the message is "rich edit insertion error "

For lack of anything better at this time and before checking for a known Palm Pilot software version problem, I would use "system file checker" [SFC] to extract and replace RICHED.DLL, RICHED20.DLL and RICHED32.DLL. They all go into c:\windows \system folder.

As a side note, have you virus scanned. I'm reasonably sure this is not your problem but the mention of a Richedit malfunction brings to mind past virus' that involved and effected Richedit.

Back again......An alternative is renaming riched32.dll and installing/reinstalling windows latest version of MS installer. Apparently this updates Richedit also. See and read:
