Resolved returning to ie8 from ie9 problem

System is Vista SP2.

Windows 9 was installed and started causing problems (winsock).
I got the winsock file reset and it should be ok for a while.

The problem is when i try to return to IE-8, I don't see IE-9 listed under the
control panel>programs and features> windows components so i can not
uninstall IE-9 (and cannot install IE-8 because a newer version exist).

Under these conditions how can i uninstall IE-9
