Hey, this is not a problem, a question or an advertisement, just a response to, "Intro Usef." Over the years acquired computer gear and sold an old used puter for $100 after investing $45 and that made me a used computer salesman recently. Since then I've bought six 17 inch monitors, all beauties for $10 ea at thrift store. Also, I have acquired/bought four $20 puters and salvaged gear from them especially cases. I bought two power supplies and two cheap 40GB hard drives from Geeks, Newegg and Tiger direct along with a new PC for me. My brother took an old puter from his closet and sent it to me with Win XP Home on CD. I have Win 98SE, Win ME, Win XP Home and Win XP Pro along with Ashampoo suite and AVG/FREE anti-virus. I also have an old MS (win 95) Regclean - still seems to work on XP. I'm online with Road Runner high speed cable, which includes TV and phone. I downloaded MS Windows7 beta and loaded it on top of XP to see - nice but what about drivers and...

Now I have all this gear and my own PC is newish and nice. I'm not advertising here, just explaining what I'm doing in/with computers.

History is that I got into computer operations and programming in 1963 when two guys knocked on my newlywed door sending me off to ECPI Programming Institute to learn about this new computer thing. I have 2 year AA degree from 6 years part tme day and night school. I worked a number of jobs incl Stanford U for 6 years but gave it up after 9 years total employment and took up my real love of painting, no not art but house painting contractor in Kauai, Hawaii for 25 years. My lower back won't allow it no more so I'm geeking computers now, retired at 67. I enjoy pc use and hobby fixit but now I have all this old gear and a little bit new stuff.

I got to this site looking for a reason why my PC hard drive LED blinks even when I'm not using the computer - I figure my new HD is going to wear out with what looks like repetitive disk ops galore. Yup.
