I would like to retain the header and footer settings created under Navigator> Edit> Page Setup as default settings. Resetting them each time Navigator is launched is a pain. Can the settings be saved as defaults for permanent use?

    Hi BirdieBob,

I'm not clear on what you mean by "Header and Footer" settings in "Page Setup ".

Are you talking about settings in Preferences, and if so, which ones? There are no Header and Footer settings, in Netscape 7.0/01. Let us know, so we can help you.

To answer your question; the settings in Preferences most certainly should be retained. If they are not, once we know what you want, then we can help you correct the problem.

Sorry to be confusing. I'm referring to the settings found under File> Page Setup, in the Margins & Header/Footer tab. At the bottom of the screen are pull-down menus for header and footer content that will be printed on any page.

The settings apply to pages printed from both Navigator or Mail (messages, etc.). Once set, they will be maintained for the session but must be reset again when another session is begun.

My confusing original question was intended to ask if there is a way to retain those settings for all sessions by specifying them as defaults.

    Hi BirdieBob,

If I had been a little more alert, I would have known exactly what you were referring to, with Page Setup. I had Preferences on the Brain, and Printing wasn't in my focus. ROTFL!! So Sorry...

Unfortunately, those settings are not retained. I keep hoping that might be doable with each new release, but not yet. I'm not certain if it is a bug or an omission, but I will try and find out for you.

    Happy Holiday,

    Ramona :D

    Hi BirdieBob,

There are quite a few Bugs on Page Setup. Look at Mozilla's Bug List for more information.
