I have a couple of Compaq PC's.....the older one running Windows98 that has been updated to 98SE....the other computer a year newer that came with WindowsME installed.
I have restore discs for the 98 system. I know how to run Fdisc and reinstall the system with the Compaq restore discs 'on the older computer'.......could I possibly do the same thing and use these discs to put 98 on the other computer? we have nothing but trouble with the ME system. Would just like to know if I can get it changed to 98 and 'how'?? Do I have to buy the 98OS and if so just how do I go about installing it?
    thanks

Most likely not. The restore disks are specifically made for a Compaq PC, and will probably refuse to install on the other PC.

If they would install, be advised that you are not complying with the license agreement.
