    Hello..
I have one physical drive that I partitioned to C: and D: drives (both NTFS). C: drive has the W2k and all the applications installed and D: drive only contains the docs/files. I've been making backups of the files in my D: drive using the W2K backup tool. If I upgrade the OS to XP, would I be able to restore the files backed up from W2K to XP??

Also, if I format the C: drive and install XP on it, would I be able to access the D: and its contents from XP? D: drive partition was created using Partition Magic while using W2K.

    thanks for the info~~
    ;)

You should be able to access any data on your D drive w/o issue after you install XP. I haven't seen any issue with PM partitions versus Microsoft paritions. As long as they are the same partition type and format, then XP will read it w/o a problem.

You can also restore your backup job from Win2k on the XP backup program. They are compatible.
