XP used to auto-launch a window showing contents of my SmartMedia cards when they were connected to the machine. Now, after some unknown "enhancement," it no longer happens.

I can work around it, but my wife is rather challenged by navigating and manipulating the picture files contained on the media.

I'm using fully updated XP Home edition. Two possible culprits are the Olympus Camedia software, and the Microtech Zio! software. I tried updating those when difficulty began. I have fully uninstalled both of those programs, hoping to return to prior functionality.

The MS websites, including TechNet, have been of no help so far.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Do you have an internal card reader? If so, open windows explorer and right click on the drive and choose properties. Click on the autoplay tab and make sure the line that says "prompt me each time to choose an action" is ticked. If you don't have an internal card reader put a card in your camera or card reader and plug it in. Then do as I stated previously for the internal drive.
