resolving ip numbers

Is there a way to increase the number of tries a web address is resolved into a ip address? Or is there a way to increase the time? Both?

I have a high latencey intenet connection and it seems that I get "This page cannot be displayed" because It takes to long to resolve an IP address.

Any other options?

ps I have increased the "NameSrvQueryTimeout" registry key and it didn't seem to help.

 

You could do your DNS resolutions, at least for your favorites, ahead of time with CIP Fast DNS:
