I have a Logitech LX700/MX700 wireless KB and mouse using XP-Home. The mouse works fine but the KB was acting up (keys acted like "sticking" but most were not) so I deleted sw and reloaded it to see if that would fix the problem.

Now I have a new problem with 99% of the KB keys don't work at all. I can only get the Scroll wheel, Zoom wheel and CD Eject key to work everything else is DOA.

Batteries are brand new. I reinitialized all the links and even sub'ed with by wife's identical KB but same problems. Replugged all cables, rebooted etc.

    Manual KB works fine.

    Any suggestions?

Perhaps too simple a suggestion but make sure there is nothing to interfere with the signal. I had a wireless mouse that acted erratically - drove me crazy for a couple of months. I replaced batteries several times and tried an identical mouse. Finally noticed that I had inadvertantly put a small, plastic basket between my mouse and receiver. The basket had a wire framework and the interference was sufficient to cause a major problem. I removed the basket and problem solved.

Thanks, but that's not it. I moved the receiver so it's 3" from the KB. I even took a receiver from another computer but that didn't help.

I don't understand why only the few keys I mentioned work and none of the others ???????????

I called Logitech as they have been extremely helpful the few times I've called.

They immediately recognized the problem with the Secure Encription feature which encrypts the wireless signal from the kb to the receiver so the signal cannot easily be "stolen ". When this feature gets scrambled the kb and receiver are not talking the same language and thus only the non-critical keys work (eg Zoom, Scroll etc).

The solution is to turn the Encription feature off as follows:

    Press Cntl+Alt+F12
    Press the Receiver button
    Press the kb button
    Press Esc

Then after rebooting the Encryption Wizard will pop up. Follow the few steps to re-enable it and everything works fine.

Thanks for posting the "fix ". Always interesting to hear how some of these weird problems are resolved.

where is the transmitter located ?
    is it not blocked ?
    Interference from other items ?
is is possible to do a system restore and work from there
as well ensure that you have the proper instal disc
try another usb port and / or a usb pci card
try the setup on another computer
