    I have problem

    source:
    Damage HDD (IDE) <40GB,
    store over 10years, capacities 800MB, 1GB, 2GB, 10GB, 20GB

destination: 64 GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive

    I need rescure recovery HDD.

    I found this
    http://hdd-regenerator.software.informer.com/

(Q1) any method can check HDD is "Physical Damage" or "Logical Damage "

(Q2) in BIOS can auto-detect HDD setting, that HDD is maybe rescure data? Else 100% died?

(Q3) if HDD can run, possible BOOT from CD, use 3rd program Bit-by-Bit to copy HDD RAW image data to USB 64GB?

    Remarks: I check http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=287
Many HARDDISK brand, must confirm HDD brand and use brand Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities ?

can help me to rescure, any idea please!

Run the manufacturer's disk diagnostics - DOS version - if still available for 10 year old drives ....

    Disk Diagnostic Software ....

    ExcelStore

    Hitachi/IBM

    Samsung

    Seagate, Maxtor, Quantum

    Western Digital
If Windows recognises the drive there is a chance. Look at Recuva
