Replacing standard folder icon

    Any easy way to replace a standard folder icon with an icon I downloaded?

    If the folder icon can be customized you right click on it and select properties. A "customize tab" will be available. One of the options is "change icon ".

    Some folders can be set with your icon preference and some can't (at least without using some 3rd party software). I don't know, off the top of my head, what the particulars are. Must be lot's of how-tos in the help=net archives of past posts. Have you looked there for your "particulars "?

    Tx for your response....I did some more reading & resolved issue by using a combination of Irfanview & 3rd party s/w (ActivIcons)....Tx again
