Resolved replacement for spinrite

i have used spinrite for many years and its a good program cuz its bootable and it did work. however with the newer drives it seems to hang at the boot process works on older machine but seems to have problems with newer ones also it hasnt been updated since 2008 which is really dumb.

is the a good bootable program out there like spinrite that free if possible.

 

Doing a "Google" for Spinrite suggests that $90.00 for the Software placed against the cost of a new 1TB HD makes it a no-brainer these days.
None of the visits I made had any alternative to Spinrite.

Spinrite was a great program in its heyday, but new drives don't need low-level formatting like older drives occasionally did.

There's a good reason the latest version of Spinrite is almost 9 years old.

 

yeah its totally useless with the new systems in most cases it wont even boot totally to the spinrite cd.

wish there was another program like that one the repair function saved many drives for me in the past.
