[Replacement for] Dell dimension 4400 motherboard

Hello every one. Does dell make any other mobo that is compatible with the 4400 mobo.My mobo in my 4400 has shorted out and I now need a replacement.

p4 nothwood(478 pin) processor and the intel 845d (brookdale) chipset. this system is designd for ddr memory.

If you can't get an exact replacement be very sure that a new mobo will fit in the Dell case. They tend to have tailored Mobos, much smaller than normal.

If you don't get an exact replacement you will have trouble with activation after doing a needed repair or fresh install if you are using XP. XP OEM on proprietary computers such as Dells are tied to the motherboard. When changing to another motherboard that is not the same Microsoft considers it a different computer and requires the new purchase of XP.

 

I looked on Ebay for ya but no luck. All I found was used 4400s.
