Repeated critical download, always 823559

    My first post guys so treat me gentle.

    Operating 98 se and broadband with ie6.

    Nearly every day I get the "there are critical updates" box and every time it comes up with the patch 823559, I download and install and there it is again tomorrow.:confused:

    welcome to Windows BBS ... :) ... !

    I reinstalled a few Win98SE computers a while ago and was prompted for KB823559 at Windows Update. I always download and save to local hard disk to have the updates available for the next reinstallation. Try downloading from Security Update for Microsoft Windows 98 and Windows 98 Second Edition (KB823559) and install from the local hard disk.

    By the way, is it Windows Critical Update Notification 4.0 - (Posted Date: November 22, 2002) that is giving you the repeated notification or is it another utility?

    Hey the same thing happens to me, I have downloaded that patch 8 times before I figured out that I had already downloaded 7 times before, I dont have an answer I sure hope some one else does. I use 98 SE and Ie6
