I have windows update set to notify me when updates are available.

I am getting repeat notifications for updates I have already downloaded and installed. When I check update history on the Microsoft Update site, the updates that I am being advised to download are listed as already installed successfully.

The 2 updates I am having problems with are KB920685 which I have installed (9 times successfully), and KB886906 (installed once).
This is happening in Windows XP Home SR2.

Microsoft is not responding for email support on this issue.

    Hello xseedman,

See if this MS troubleshooting Doc is of any help:

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=910339 How to troubleshoot Windows Update or Microsoft Update when you are repeatedly offered an update

You can also uncheck notification for these in WU.

    Regards - Charles

    Thanks charlesvar

That support link you gave me was useful.

Had to use the install from safe mode to take care of the problem, and it didn't look like it was going to work, but a day later
(even though I had rebooted several times the same day) it corrected the situation.
