On a Dell Dimension 4600 that got multiple Trojans on it as well as some other malware. I used Malwarebytes , spybot, and ccleaner to clear all infections. I must have also cleared out some needed files because I got BSOD .!st bad pool caller Stop: 0x000000xc2, found in my XPinside/out book that KB265879 might help. Repair reinstall failed, got a new BSOD Stop: 0x0000007e (0xc0000005, 0xf849a2b2, 0xf895148c, 0xf895118c) FLTMGR.SYS -address f849a2b2 base at f848200. I am at a loss at what to do next as I have hooked the HDD to a USB setup to retrieve files. I figure a reformat and start all over is my next option. Unless somebody has another idea. Thank you

Hi Cjssr71. I think that a complete format is the only option since the repair install failed to resolve the problem.

Plus their could still be other malware infections that are still present on the harddrive so if you format it then there will be no chance of any malware infections being present on the system.

Well that just confirmed what I thought was my next step. I was hoping to get the system up and running without the time consuming task of reformat and reinstall and update everything. Thanks for the fast reply.

    No Problem.

Could you let me know whether you consider this issue resolved or do you have any other questions?
