LumberGumRubber chased this quite a bit in 2013. I read the whole thread, searching for an answer to the same problem. I use Windows 7 and IE11 and have had that aggravation for as long as I can remember. I ran through most of the suggestions made in the previous thread and found no joy. I am under group policy that does not allow opening into previous session. Currently, the tool is not greyed, but, the next time I start IE it may be. There is always a list of tabs to load, so the tool should never be grey.

"Reopen last browsing session" greyed out Randomly

Disable or Enable should make no difference.
I guess I should have titled this "Reopen last browsing session" greyed out Randomly. Some days it works, some days it doesn't. I am very careful to have only one window open when I close IE. When I reopen, "Reopen last browsing session" is not consistently open.

Have a look at this 2013 thread: Reopen last browsing session. Many ideas, in the end nothing worked for that poster, but maybe something will work for you?

    From my initial post:
LumberGumRubber chased this quite a bit in 2013. I read the whole thread, searching for an answer to the same problem.
I believe you will find that is the one you referenced.
He never found an answer, as I recall.

Checking out a few 'dead' threads. Did you resolve this issue - if so please mark your thread as Resolved.

You were my last respondent. I don't have recent experience that supports any change, regardless of all the updates.
