[RENAMED] Blaster worm

    please help ASAP, my time is 530am central

    please specify in complete the full and understood meaning and responsibility of the blaster worm. Secondly, i would like to know if there is a way i can remove the worm without reinstalling windows. Please help ASAP. Thank U much, very much.

    The blaster worm will shut down IE within minutes of opening it. (my experience with it) Doesn't sound like that's what happening and I recommend some online scans (links pinned here)
    To work around shutdown, right click 'My Computer'>manage>services and apps.>services and disable RPC.
    Search Symantec site for instructions on removal of the blaser worm.

    thanks for info, i do believe i have the worm, the microsoft site showed exactly what pops up upon rpc failure, and thats what my comp does. Sometimes my comp will run fine for hours, other times, i restart, then 10 minutes or less, do it again

    Should have also mentioned, if you haven't found out already, the worm will also show itself in task manager as msblast.exe and can be stopped from running there till removed.
