I would like to know how to do this in IE6. The item is "Winamp Controls" and I can't find that in the registry. Thanks.

I was wrong re: Tools menu

The item I'd like to see gone is in view>toolbars. And there is an item relating to an uninstalled program called "Registrar Lite' in the Find menu. Neither item is in Add/REmove Programs.

    Hi

the start find context menu is >
    HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FindExtensions\Static\

Im unsure of the other. there was a nastie back a few months ago that added to it by creating a policie
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]

IF you see thes at that location they can be deleted(from right hand side)
    NoBandCustomize
    NoToolbarCustomize
    SpecifyDefaultButtons

Does the Winamp entry have one of it's letters underlined? If so, when you search in regedit, add an ampersand in front of the underlined letter. If the W is underlined, search for &winamp. If the I is the underlined letter use w&inamp etc. . Give this a try and see if they show up.
