Hi All, ............... Recently there was a posting by shadowhawk (12/8/04) which expanded into how to remove attachments by Westside . Ramona provided a neat solution using "Edit as new." It was my understanding that "Edit as new" could also be used to remove Headers. So far I have not been able to remove Headers with this approach using either Thunderbird 1.0 or Mozilla 1.7.5.

Am I correct and if so what is the proper steps to remove Headers. Thank you.

    derfsch,

I believe you will need the Mnenhy extension in order to edit Headers.

Not sure if you can completely delete a Header, but then again, I'm not extension oriented. Hopefully someone with that extension will lend you a hand.

Ramona, .............. After reading up on the Mnenhy Extension I'm not convinced that it applies to headers that the e-mail sender has either decided to use or customize. And it is true that the header can be modified by editing, removing, etc. but I'm not sure that the headers apply to incoming mail which may be forwarded. In any case the whole extension appears too complex for me to install and I decided to stay with you and for the time being and "not be extension oriented. "

For those interested in cleaning up mail before sending (forwarding) it to others, I have used a small program by Steve Chin called eCleaner. It may still be availabe at http://eCleaner.tripod.com.

Thank you for the prompt reply and your helpful interest.
