    Hello,

My company wants to purchase and existing site, the IT company is going to take out their server and other network equipment and leave us a few PC's.
I would however like to not replace the server and just use the PC's as per-to-per network.

How do I set the PC's to go back to being regular computers and not part of the domain.

or is this a bad idea as I think the server has been hosting MDS/Billing software that will be replaced with our company's on-line solution.
I really don't wanna get in to replacing a server with a new one and have to figure out how to have the new server take the old ones place. For me i fell it would be essayer to just start fresh.

If it's only a few PCs (less than 10) and they don't need a file share, then peer to peer could work. Depends on what infrastructure you have at other sites too. How much a part of the overall company do you want the new site to be?

I broke down and purchased some microsoft mcdst train matieral and windows server 2003 and 2008 matierals as well and found its really easy to go from a domain to a work group rather easy its all done from the system properties. I cant belive I could not find that with google, but I think my question was little ambigious, all I wanted was to take computers from a domain and join them to a work group instead, it was all covered in the mcdst books.

My new problem is now that I have read these books I want to get more on other topics, I really want to learn about exchange server I have wanted one for a while now.:)
