Subject says it, I think. I knew that Adaptec (which is what Direct CD still was when I got the software) Direct CD 3 made XP stop shutting down completely, but I installed it anyway, not knowing XP (here, Pro) came with its own burning software. So I just removed Direct CD, but while the PC now restarts fine (so that function was successfully restored on the uninstall), the PC still does not completely shut down (screen does not go blank or give a "you can now safely shut down" message, it stays at "windows is shutting down" screen). What else do I need to do? Note that this is a late model AT mobo, and the shutdown never turns the PC off. But I expect to have an end message & windows completely gotten out of. Is there a power toy fix? TweakUI didn't have that. Or another workaround? Thank you.
