I have two vista OS on my computer each on seperate hard drives, I want to remove the 32bit vista from D drive. ccleaner has a drive wipe function in the tools section that will wipe your hard drive of all data. I tried it and it seemed to be working, it showed formatting my hard and took about 45 minutes, but when it was all done my vista was still there and still working fine. I'm I doing something wrong, has anyone else tried this. Frustrated. thanks inadvance

This guide will tell you how, it relates to partitions but you can think of each drive as a partition.

    http://www.ehow.com/how_6869972_remove-dual-boot-partition.html

If it doesn't boot after the removal, insert the Vista disc and reboot, follow the prompts until you get the choice to 'Startup Repair' and run it. You may have to go into bios and set the CD/DVD drive as 1st in the boot order.

    Still haven't solved the problem

Thank markmadras for the reply and help but it didn't work for me, windows wouldn't let me delete anything such as volume or format the hard drilve. I was wondering if you ever heard of wipedrive software. I was thinking of buying it but you know all the promises these sites web make about their product. I have the webpage address below. Thanks again. bwise1

You do not need to buy any software, don't waste your money.

Try another method. Click Start>right click on Computer>click Manage>User account control will appear, click continue.

In the left pane click on Storage>Disk Management.

Right click on the drive you wish to format and select format from the drop down menu.

This should work as long as you are not trying to delete the drive that you are running the OS from.

Try downloading EasyBCD and remove the OS from the bootloader - which resides on the C:\ drive - then try to format D:\

Sorry I misunderstood you I thought you wanted it posted in hardware. My mistake. I still have the same problem, but I'm working on it. Thanks Mardmadras.
