I use win7 and Vista 64 bit. I use Firefox and safari. Is their a utility or a way to delete the Url's that always show in the address bar drop down list.

    Hi,

    Firefox
Tools --> Clear private data --> Select "Browsing history..." and press Clear.

    Safari
Should be under History --> Clear history.

  3. to hide this advert.

You might wanna try removing the file containing the history. The file is located in the Firefox profile catalog, see below:

    1) Turn off Firefox. Make sure no processes of it is running-
    2) Browse to: %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
    3) Open the folder named ".....default ".
    4) Remove the file called "places.sqlite ".
    5) Start up Firefox.

Even after clearing the history, you will still see the urls that are included in your Bookmarks. If you are seeing others and you don't want to remove the previously mentioned file, download CCleaner and use that. It should clear everything other than your Bookmarks.

Try highlighting the URL with the cursor then press shift-delete. Now if the URL's are in your bookmarks they will reappear.
