I want to remove programs I don't use and when I checked add/remove programs they show rarely use and I have not knowingly used them, but I don't know if they are needed for other programs. They are real player and quicktime. My computer is 7+ years old. Safe to remove?

If you don't use these or any other programs, they are safe to uninstall.

Anyway both real player & quicktime are resource hog & buggy. Plenty of alternates out there.

Don't believe everything you read there :)

Same in Device Manager - 'This .... is working correctly' or words to that effect - not necessarily so.
