    • From your iGoogle Home page, enter this into the address bar:
    • From 'Language', select 'English (UK)'
    • Change NOTHING else
    • Press 'Save' button at very bottom of page

    Alternatively,
    • Go to:
    • Sign out & then back in
    • Enter this in the address bar:
    >> javascript:_dlsetp('v2=0');
    • Save this page as your new homepage in Internet Explorer or other browser
    >> Internet Explorer > from the menu > 'Tools' > 'Internet Options' > 'General' tab > 'Use current' button > 'OK'

You can also try this if you use Adblock Plus:

Go to tools, adblock plus, add filter.

    Copy and paste this:
    google.com#TD(class=leftborder)

Got my space back and tabs are on top like they should be.

  3. to hide this advert.

Where do you find the adblock plus, in the IE settings, in iGoogle or elsewhere?

AdBlock Plus cannot be used w/ Internet Explorer or Avant Browser.

    It can only be used w/ Firefox 2.0, Thunderbird 2.0, SeaMonkey 1.1, Flock 1.0, Songbird 0.7, eMusic Remote 1.0, Prism 0.9 & K-Meleon.

For gits & shiggles, I tried the following:

Avant Browser > from the menu > 'Tools' > 'Avant Browser Options' > 'AdBloacker' > 'Black List' > 'Add' > entered these two strings:

    http://www.google.com#td(class=leftborder)
    • google.com#td(class=leftborder)

Neither worked after restarting the Browser.

My bad, I don't use IE and assumed it was IE compatible due to ThumperZ1's post.
