Removal of leftside explore bar

    I recently tried to d/load a screen saver from the web to my desk top ,then discovered it did not d/load properly but left me with an unmovable 30mm vertical explore bar with all the trimmings ,it wont budge ,ive tryed everthing, my desktop icons have frozen,i have even gave toolbar cop ago.,
    any tips will be very welcome indeed.
