    Hi everyone,

I am facing a very unique (for lack of a better word) problem with my remote desktop. I have 2 computers:

    1. Desktop - running Windows XP
    2. Laptop - running Windows 7

When both computers are on LAN or both on Wireless, RD works just fine. However if one is on LAN and the other on wireless, RD doesn't work. Neither does file/folder sharing between the 2 comps.

I have been successful in establishing such a connection before on different computers (running XP and Vista), so I know it's not something that cannot be done. But I am completely lost as to why it isn't working in this case.

I would really appreciate any help on this matter.

    Thanks.

Since firewall settings are different for each adapter that would be my first guess.

What devices are being used on the network?
    Router make and model?
    Any access points?

Hello, I have a problem that I am hoping someone can help me with. I am running Windows 2000 and I am trying to get a wireless connection setup. I get my connection from my neighbor thru a wireless router. I have a Belkin USB wireless receiver, but when I go into network connections I cant seem to get to where I can setup a wireless connection. Other forums I read told me to go into the properties of the connection that runs the wireless and go in advanced and find the ssid, but I got confused with that, I couldnt find a SSID option in the properties anyway. So....please please help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Im using a friends computer here. I hate this. Please Help

    Thank you very much

    Windows 2000 didn't have a wireless utility.
You will need to use the utility provided with the wireless adapter.

first thing that came my mind is your LAN and Wireless network are in different network subnet or simple having different network settings. having a different settings is good if you don't want these 2 networks to see each other.
