Remote Desktop to 2003 from XP

    right when i RC to my 2003 server it starts a different session instead of loggin into the current one, when a friend trys it he can log onto the same session, i cant..? dont know why... ne help?

    Are you trying to connect to the logged in console session? if so, are you launching the client using this format:
    mstsc -v:server /F "“console

    Or are you referring to a previously disconnected terminal server session? There are options in the RDP listener to configure how strict the reconnection matching works

    im trying to log into a session which is currently open, (but locked)

    So you want the behavior to be, if USERA is logged in from COMPUTER34 and then walks down the hall and tries to termserv back in to the server using COMPUTER55, it should forcibly disconnect the session and reconnect it?

    OK let me try explain again
    i have a server and i want to remote connect to it. obviously the server is on 24/7. it is logged in under my username and then locked and left running.

    now say im at work and want to do something on that server with the processes that are running i want to be able to connect back to my server unlock the server and use the session asif i never left. (i dont want to start another sessions which is what it does now) i need the same session as i have programs , etc running

    ok. so launching the client using this format : mstsc -v:server /F "“console should work ok. Have you tried this yet?

    no i havent i will give it a try, i take it where "server" is is where i put the ip of the server.

    that command in start > run "mstsc -v:server /F "“console" wont work, just dosnt do nething
