I have a strange issue that I can't put my finger on and I am hoping someone else has some ideas.

    Using:
7mb Verizon DSL connection (Dynamic IP)
Netgear Rangemax WPN824 Wireless 8Port Router
    Windows Server 2003 Enterprise

Remote desktop works as it should when connecting to the server from any remote computer. Our Dynamic IP stays the same and the connection stops working at some random point and will not work internally or externally until I log into the router and force it to grab a new IP address from Verizon. It has worked perfectly for the last 2 years and this just started happening in the last week or so. My server doesn't use automatic updates, I manually apply them, so I know that isn't the cause.

I have several local PCs that listen on different ports and I know my router is configured properly for port forwarding. When this problem happens it affects all connections and then when I refresh the IP they all work again.

Any suggestions would be helpful. I've tried all the obvious and then some.

    Thanks,
    Ken

I think I'd start by swapping out the router. That's the sort of behaviour you can get from faulty hardware.

It would also be worth reporting the problem to your ISP to see if their logs give you any information on the problem (oh! and check your router logs).
