I use RD to log into my home computer when I travel. Unfortunately so does my wife. Sometimes she would be in the middle of a RD session when I try to log in and in effect I would kick her off intentionally. Then she would try to log back in and kick me off. Then I would log in and ... well, you get my drift. Is there an add-on to the RD client that can detect that there is someone else already using the computer via RD? Better yet, this add-on would send a warning message to the active user that another is trying to get through? I would have thought someone has already written an app for this given how popular RD is and the stupid fact that XP Pro only allows 1 user at a time. I heard Vista is the same. Come on Microsoft, give us married couples a break here. I don't mind paying an extra hundred if two people can use the computer via RD at the same time.

Only one RD session can be used at a time.
Are you logging in as the same user when this happens?
I've always got a warning when I try to log in to a computer using RDC if there is another user logged in. This leads me to believe that you and your wife use the same login. Perhaps you should create another account
    Or you can try TightVNC
This will not knock another user off, but it is not as good of a connection.
This program is good for helping someone who is physically at the computer, as you can see each other's movements
