I would like to know if it's possible to use WinXP remote desktop (or assistant)
through direct cable connection (parallel port)? If so, how?
I'd like to set this up as a tool to help teach my girlfriend to use Windows XP and Netscape without having to stand over her shoulder and point.....

One laptop running Win98SE and the other Win XP pro and the only ports
they have in common are the parallel and serial ports.

    Any tips? tricks? or ideas.

    Thanks

That's was too easy, BUT IT WORKED!! For less than $10.00 too!
However, I must have something set wrong because each time the remote system logs in, the other laptop session gets logged out and the screen goes blank. Not too good for a training session. I was thinking this would be similar
    to the old PC-Anywhere

That is how Remote Desktop works. The Remote Desktop window will open and you will see the desktop settings, files, and programs that are on remote computer. Your computer you are connecting to will remain locked. Nobody will be able to work at the computer without a password, nor will anyone see the work you are doing on your computer remotely. For more details, see the following link.
