How do you make a remote desktop connection without logging the other person off? I would like to be able to actually show the person how to fix it without leaving my computer. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jason

To angel: I tried remote assistance, it says trys to connect but cant (no firewall)
To Welshjim: That works, but is there a way to do it without logging that person off, where they can watch exactly what you do (other than Windows Messanger)

Remote assistance certainly should work but depding on exactly how your friend connects to the internet, there may be things you need to do.

    So, at his/her end
    - dial-up or broadband
    - if broadband, via SOHO router/switch and NAT or directly to the broadband modem?
    - any ICS in the mix?

    No.

You need to get Remote Assistance to work, or use 3rd party software...
