I am using Windows XP Remote Desktop to dial into my office network - after using it for a while the internet speed slows rapidly (I am using a permanent ADSL connection).

Can anyone suggest a reason why this should happen, and how I could check what the actual cuase is?

    Thanks

    Update the Remote Desktop client:

ADSL does not gaurantee you that it will not slow down. You would have to speak with your ISP to get a new TOS "Terms of Service" written that would gaurantee your up and download speeds.

Otherwise you are at the mercy of every other person sharing the DSLAM at the Central Office with you.

Remember too that the remote side can have issues similar to yours. The fastest you are going to get is the fastest the slowest part of the connection is able to achieve.
