I was wondering.... say if someone has a virus and you connect with remote assistance to fix it for them... would the virus start to affect my PC too?

Never used it before so thought id ask the experts :)

Not all virsus are created equal. There are literally hundreds of thousands of viruses, each with it's own agenda.

Considering the above I would venture to say NO, you won't get infected by a virus when remotely connected. However, it is a possibility.

If a virus was specifically programmed to infect a remote connection, then yes, you could be infected if your anti virus software isn't up to date, or it's a brand new virus your anti virus program hasn't heard of.

I would also venture to say that if there is no such virus in existence yet, this question will most likely prompt someone to start working on one.
