Hi, I am a volunteer at my local doctors' surgery, where we have a pc playing videos and messages concerning patients' health. The service used to support this is "Signagelive" which I understand is a well known international company in the display industry. This all works fine.
However, I am trying to send this video stream over the internet to another PC in another surgery building.
I have achieved this using the remote connection software Aeroadmin which works well handling the images, but does not support the audio.
I believe Teamviewer will do the job, but the licence fee is very expensive and the doctors are not prepared to pay for it.
Does anyone know of a service or a piece of software which will allow me to achieve my goal which is either free or not very expensive. I also need the service to support unattended access, in other words there will be nobody at the remote machine to grant access.

    Best Regards,
    Geoff

Hi Geoff, What are the OS's in use between the computers?
W10 has Network Sharing although I have no further knowledge of it's use.
Hopefully Tony may look in and be able to help you.

Have you talked to the Signagelive Company to see if this is legal? And or it might be easier to get another feed from them.

    Sinagelive FAQ #1

How does your license model work?

Our licensing works on a per player (connected device) basis. You will need to purchase a Signagelive licence for each player you wish to connect and manage from Signagelive.

    Thanks all for your replies.
I discussed the licence implications with the Practice business manager and we came to the conclusion that because the other building is part of the same business, there wasn't a problem. Surely, this is no different to sending the stream to another room in the same building? I would be interested in your comments.
    Thanks, Geoff

Having now read the SignageLive Ts&Cs, I understand that because we will be using three video screens in total we should buy an additional licence for the other site.

One way to do it would be to setup a single device which the original stream is sent to. On that device (computer) you then use ffmpeg to grab the stream and send it to youtubelive. Then on other computers you use a Web browser to view your private channel at youtubelive. I've done this for live osprey cams out on the Chesapeake Bay. But, (1) it's complex and (2) must not violate any license agreement with the streaming company.
