    Hi friends

I have no problem remote accessing (RA) from win10.pro to vista in a LAN but when i try the reverse direction there is error. Using remote assistant from an android device the error code was 0x204, another app mentioned something to do with SSL which i can't fathom.

The win10.pro remote settings is quite normal "allow remote connection & without the "netWork Level authentication" and yet ..
..when i call up the mstsc from vista-pc, enter the local LAN ip address of the remote pc, vista tell me it can't connect and politely suggest to contact myself, the owner of the remote - ME!!

    Appreciate help.

Are you certain your Win 10 is the PRO version?

All versions of Windows can call out.. Only the Pro versions can receive connections.

It is stated in the system as Windows 10 Pro

Take this opportunity to update on the TeamViewer thread i started sometime ago with Tony helping me along.

Since i can comfortably do Remote Access from one PC to another in LAN, i think i will be able to RA through WAN. Even though i have not tried it as yet, from what Tony said i think i only need to use the public IP address & set the router to port forwarding at the destination PC to achieve it,

When trying to logon to the win10 FROM vista you need to enter the credentials for the win10 user account, not your vista credentials. You could use the vista credendials if you setup a second account on win10 with the same credentials.

Tony i created a user in win10.pro eg newguy with password, then i tried to mstsc to win10.pc, user = newguy; the same failed result - cannot connect.

What do you mean by credentials, did i miss your point? :(

Not sure about windows 10, but my windows 8 pro has these settings:
(check or uncheck) - Allow remote connections to this computer.
(check or uncheck) - Allow connections...with Network Level Auth.
    (button) - Select Users...
Remote Desktop Users > Add User

    Did you add the user?
Also, make sure Windows Firewall allows RDP.
