If I used windows xp remote access program on my laptop, can it transmit over a 802.11b or g wireless connection to my desktop connected to a wireless router?

    Also,
Would a wireless connection running a windows xp remote access program be able to run video games off a CD,processing them on my desktop and transmitting them wirelessly to my laptop that doesn't have a cd drive or a great video card? That way my laptop wouln't require a state of the art video card to run games, and therefore it could stay thin, light, and cheap!

Remote access as in RAS or RRAS or remote desktop?

If Remote Desktop, since the software is built in, have you tried it to see if it will do what you want?

I'm not positive but I imagine the answers if you use remote desktop are yes and yes. But you may well see performance issues due to the speed limitations with wireless.

You're probably referring to Remote Desktop, and the answer is YES, with a caveat.

Many DirectX games will NOT work over Remote Desktop. They will detect RD and tell you that they don't run that way.

In particular Dungeon Siege and Rise Of Nations don't work. I haven't tried every game, but DX8 and DX9 games will probably not work.

Thanks Logik. I'm not a gamer as you could probably tell from the bad info I posted. Oops.

    Hehehe®

I'm less of a gamer than it might seem. :)

Haven't had time in a while.

Outside of games, though, you can get lots done with TS and RD.
