Dell optiplex 733MHZ and 391mb RAM. Hard disk1 10gig, hard disk 2 10gig. this question concerns only disk 1 which has 2in2k pro.

Problem: disk 1 originally had 3 partitions(C,D,E). I deleted E and merge it to D. After that, I had to remap the two Cd drives(F: CD-ROM and G: CD-RW). I use PM6(partition magic v.6). When it ran, PM seemed to reset the paths but the two drives'names were not changed. I repeated but still no change. So I used win2k tools to rename the two drives.

Now, my Cd-RW did not work. so I tried to reinstall it but I could not start the installation, seemed like something wrong with the CD-ROM also.

Is there a fix for it?  :(

Try using w2k Disk Management to set drive letters back to what they were before PM did its work.

    re: drives mapping

I was finally able to reinstall the CD-RW software . But the first step which is checking the data transfer rate still didn't work but I cancelled that step and was able to record some data.

Obenton. Thank you for the suggestion but the 2 drives originally were G and H, then they were reset the paths to F and G then at last to D and F. So you see, it become quite complicated now to retrace the path...

So I would leave it at that, since I do not use the CD_RW very often.
